Sebaceous, Sweat, and Subtracheal Gland

Sebaceous Gland

  • A: Sebaceous gland has a very distinct look as it is arranged in globs that look much like a cluster of berries and histologically it is named simple multicellular branched acinar gland

B: The epidermis is stratified squamous epithelium and is the easiest way to know where you are in the body.

    C: Sweat gland
  • A: The loose connective tissue of the dermis surrounds the sebaceous glands.

B: The sebaceous gland secretes sebum by way of the hair follicle. The sebaceous gland has noticeable granules and centrally located nuclei.

C: The hair follicle is surrounded on both sides by sebaceous glands.
  • A: LCT of the Dermis

    B: Sebaceous gland

    C: Hair follicle
  • A: Sebaceous Gland

    B: Stratified squamous epithelium
  • A: Sebaceous gland

    B: Connective tissue

Sweat Gland

  • A: The sweat gland is located in the dermis. Histologically it is named simple multicellular coiled tubular exocrine gland. The coiled nature makes the gland look like a bunch of tubules curving in and out of the dermis.

B: The dermis is a thick loose connective layer

C: The epidermis is stratified squamous epithelium
  • A: Sweat gland

    B: Hair follicle
  • A: Dermis

B: Sweat Gland surrounded by dense connective tissue.
  • A: DCCTIRA

B: Sweat gland is simple multicellular coiled tubular exocrine gland

    C: Adipose tissue

Subtracheal Gland

  • A: Hyaline cartilage c-rings
B: Subtracheal glands are simple multicellular tubular alveolar exocrine glands that are located just beneath the epithelium in the trachea
    C: Ciliated pseudostratified columnar epithelium
  • A: Hyaline cartilage

    B: Subtracheal gland

    C: Ciliated pseudostratified columnar epithelium
  • A: Hyaline cartilage

B: Subtracheal glands are simple multicellular tubular alveolar gland and you can obviously see the alveolar shape in some of the secretory portions of the gland

    C: Ciliated pseudostratified columnar epithelium
  • A: Ciliated pseudostratified columnar epithelium

    B: Subtracheal gland

    C: Hyaline cartilage
